Lancaster - Congressman Joe Pitts (R, PA-16) endorsed former three-term congressman Pat Toomey today in the 2010 race for the United States Senate.  The Congressman’s statement follows.

Toomey Honored by Congressman Joe Pitts’ Endorsement

Allentown, PA - Today, U.S. Senate candidate Pat Toomey received an endorsement from Rep. Joe Pitts (PA-08).  Mr. Toomey has also been endorsed previously by Rep. Charlie Dent (PA-15).

The U.S. House of Representatives passed the American Clean Energy and Security Act in a historic vote on Friday evening by a

final count of 219 to 212. Supporters of the bill needed a simple majority of 218 votes. WITH THE HELP OF 8 VOTES FROM THE GOP, Cap and Trade squeaks by in the House. The Senate is expected to write its own version of the legislation before it can be passed to President Obama, who is actively promoting the policies to put the U.S. into a clean energy economy path.
