TIM HOLDEN ON DRILLING…MAKE YOUR OWN CONCLUSIONS As you drive this weekend, think about this…In July, after Tim Holden voted with Nancy Pelosi to get out of Washington to avoid a vote on drilling for American-made oil, he got a dose of reality from district voters and changed his tune. Now Holden says he wants to drill “everywhere.”Forget Tim Holden’s sudden “conversion” to drilling offshore and in ANWR. In the real world, voting for something means you support it, and voting against something means you oppose it. In nearly sixteen years in Congress, Holden has voted against drilling in ANWR every time a vote to permit it has come up and he voted to extend the moratorium on off shore drilling many times. Tim Holden has voted dozens of time against domestic drilling. Who really believes Holden’s sudden change of heart in the face of years of voting? Words are cheap. Votes count – over and over and over.If drilling is the right thing to do now, it was the right thing fifteen years ago when Holden began voting against it.Holden’s votes show his indifference to the security of America and to the needs of district residents suffering from the effects of high gasoline and heating oil.It’s time for some changes – changes to US policy on drilling and a change in District 17’s representation in Washington

It is the belief of the Berks County Republican Committee that the quality of life in our communities is enhanced under Republican leadership. A dedication to safer streets, less taxes, less government spending, and decentralized governance makes the Republican Party, the party of Berks County. The Berks County Republican Committee demonstrates its committment to the Republican Party through its various duties. Those duties, as outlined in the committee’s by-laws, include:

    Registering Republican voters and encouraging them to vote;

Assisting Republican voters by providing information, absentee ballot applications, and other services;

Assisting the Republican Party in finding, nominating, and electing well-qualified Republican candidates for office;

Assisting candidates who are registered Republicans in election campaigns;

Protecting the interests of the Republican Party and of candidates who are registered Republicans at the polls; and

Otherwise advancing the interests of the Republican Party in Berks County.
